Police tried their best to nab all the gang members but they managed to flee leaving behind Sardaro, the DPO claimed.

Police recovered a repeater and cartridges from his possession, he said adding he had recommended promotion for the team which took part in the encounter.

To a query, he admitted that crime rate had risen in Latifabad and Cantonment areas and said special measures were being taken to curb it.
