LARKANA, Aug 16: Four members of a family, two of them women and one infant, were killed in Allahabad area of the city on Wednesday morning.

Some armed men entered in the house of Hakim Narijo, a police head constable deputed in the Larkana police lines, and showered bullets on sleeping inmates. As a result, Hakim, his wife Kashmiran, daughter Shamshad and her 15-day-old infant Abbas Narijo were killed.

The assailants escaped after committing the crime.

The slain family lived in Changen-ji-Wandh village near Madeji town.

It had shifted to Larkana after a matrimonial dispute had cropped up.

The dispute had claimed the life of Imdad Narijo.

Police said that Hakim and his wife were witness to the murder.

The accused had pressed them to change their witness statement or face dire consequences. Bodies were taken to the Khairpur district as some Narijo families had migrated there out of fear.

Yusuf Narijo, son of Hakim, registered an FIR against Mehar, Yaqoob, Qaim, Daim, Qadir Bakhsh and Mir Mohammed Narjio at the Dari police station.

Mithal and Qalandar Bakhsh, SHOs in Karachi, have been nominated as abettors.
