KARACHI, Aug 19: Nomi Qamar beat Yasir Khan in straight sets in the final to win the men’s singles crown of the Sindh ranking tennis tournament at the DHA Sunset Club the other day.
Nomi won the opener 6-2 and was leading 5-1 in the second when his opponent pulled out due to shoulder injury.
The final was held ahead of schedule as Yasir had to fly to Islamabad to feature in ITF junior tennis tournament.
Seher Khwaja and Anum Saeed qualified to meet each other in the ladies singles final to be played on Sunday.
Naz Samad Khan and Sara Ahmed were the two other women who entered in the contest which was badly affected by rains.
Seher had beaten Anum 6-2, 6-1 in the league match of the contest.
Top seed Mustafa Zaidi and second seed Abdul Rehman advanced into the boys U-13 singles final. The tournament concludes on Sunday.
