QUETTA, Aug 21: Security forces arrested two people from Barmcha area near Pak-Afghan border in Chaghai district on Monday and seized explosives found in their possession.

According to sources, Frontier Corps personnel intercepted two persons riding a motorcycle. Upon their search, explosive material weighing 150kg was recovered.

The two suspects — one of whom was identified as Agha Wali while the other remained unidentified — were handed over to the authorities concerned for interrogation, said the sources, adding that the explosive material was meant for carrying out subversion activities in Quetta and other areas of the province.

Meanwhile, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested 10 Afghans from the Pak-Afghan border area of Chaman on Monday.

“The men crossed into Pakistan without legal documents,” sources said, adding that they were booked under the foreigners act.

Investigation is in progress.
