HYDERABAD, Aug 30: Special Anti-Corruption Judge Abdul Rasool Memon on Wednesday granted bail to two physically handicapped boys who had been illegally taken to Iran for begging.

The FIA passport circle produced Oashaque, son of Allah Dino, and Major, son of Nasrullah Wadhayo, before the court under Section 17(1) of Immigration Ordinance 1979.

The Iranian authorities had arrested the boys and after their trial, jailed them for entering their country through Zaidan via Taftan through illegal means.

On completion of their term, they were handed over to the FIA authorities in Quetta and later to the FIA Sukkur as they were residents of Ratodero and Shikarpur.

According to their counsel, Hussain Shah, the court granted the bail for Rs25,000 each on the ground of their age and disability.

He maintained that he had contacted their families and would hand them over to the relatives when they arrived here.

The boys told Dawn that a man, Liaquat Solangi, had taken them to Iran on the pretext of pilgrimage to sacred places.

“We were forced into begging through Solangi’s agent. He used to give us meal but finally we were caught by police there and sent jail,” claimed Oashaq, saying that he was class-VIII student while Major was studying in class-V.

He said that his father was a labourer while Major’s father had died.
