President approves academic awards

ISLAMABAD, Aug 30: President Gen Pervez Musharraf has approved the Academic Distinction awards in various categories for the year 2006.

Following are the recipients of the awards:

IZAZ-I-KAMAL: Dr Shazia Anjum, Assistant Professor, HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi.

Izaz-i-Fazeelat in category-B has been given to the following educationists who have produced quality research work:

Dr Muhammad Sharif, Associate Professor, University of the Punjab; Dr Ms Tasneem G. Kazi, Professor COE in Analytical Chemistry, University of Sindh, Jamshoro; Prof Abdur Rauf Khan, Director, Directorate of Education, Fata, Peshawar.

In category-D Izaz-i-Fazeelat has been given to Ms Khalida Adeeb Khanam, Principal, GECT, Jamrud Khyber Agency, for promotion of female education in rural areas.

In category-E the award has been given to Col Prof (Dr) Zafar Mehmood Khawar, Principal, Multan Public School for all rounder manager of education.

In category-F the award has been given to Ashiq Hussain Khan, Assistant Professor (Urdu), Government Model Science College, Muzaffarabad for securing best results for last three years.

Izaz-i-Sabqat has been given to the following teachers in from punjab:
