CHAKWAL, Aug 30: Speakers at a protest meeting here on Wednesday held President Gen Pervez Musharraf responsible for the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti, his companions as well as the army officers and jawans in the Kohlu operation.

They urged the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of the killings and demanded registration of an FIR of the incident.

The meeting was arranged by the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy and the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) Chakwal chapter at the residence of former Punjab Assembly member and renowned columnist Ayaz Amir.

The workers of Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz, Jamaat-i-Islami, representatives of traders’ organisations and others attended the meeting.

The speakers were of the view that the Kohlu operation was target killing of Nawab Bugti and the military operation would harm the federation of Pakistan. They said our coming generations would face the effects and consequences of the military operation.—Correspondent
