HYDERABAD, Sept 3: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz held a demonstration outside the press club on Sunday in protest against arrest and disappearance of party leaders Aslam Baloch and Mushtaq Soomro.

Abdul Wahid Arisar, Dhani Bux Abro and Mushtaq Khan said that party leaders were arrested by the Tandojam police for holding a rally against the killing of Nawab Akbar Bugti.

They said that Aslam Baloch and Mushtaq Soomro were being tortured by police and their whereabouts were not known.

They warned the administration that if JSQM leaders were not released, the consequences would be serious.

JSMM: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz staged a demonstration outside the press club in protest against arrest and disappearance of party leaders Sattar Hakro, Muzaffar Bhutto, Sikandar Soomro and Nawaz Zounr.

Sohail Hakro, Murtaza Siyal and Shahnawaz Bhutto said that JSMM leaders were arrested eleven months back but their whereabouts had not been made known by police till date.

They feared that they may be eliminated in fake encounters.

They appealed to the authorities to disclose the whereabouts of the arrested leaders.

PROTEST: Wapda employees staged a march from the Labour hall to the press club on Sunday in protest against leasing of the Lakhra power house.

The march was organised by the Zonal Labour Union Lakhra and Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Central Labour Union.

Hydro union’s president Latif Nizamani, Lakhra union chairman Mazhar Ali Mallah and Iqbal Qaimkhani said that Wapda employees would never accept leasing and privatisation of the Lakhra power house.
