SWABI, Sept 4: Villagers gathered at the Kunda chowk here on Monday and blocked the road in protest against the kidnapping of a retired armyman. The protesters raised slogans against police for failing to recover the kidnapped man. Vehicular traffic to different areas remained suspended for four hours, creating problems for commuters.

Muhammad Raiz of Kadi village was kidnapped by unidentified men on Aug 2. Police have so far failed to find whereabouts. District nazim Shahram Khan and district councillors also joined the protesters blocking the road against the kidnapping.
