LARKANA, Sept 10: The Larkana Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education on Sunday announced the results of higher secondary certificate part-II examination.

The combined pass percentage of pre-medical and pre-engineering groups was 81.23 and 71.80, respectively.

In pre-medical group girls outshined boys while boys outclassed girls in pre-engineering group.

BISE controller Prof Rab Nawaz Tunio said that 9,603 candidates took pre-medical examination where only 20 candidates could get A-1 grade.

He said that 903 were placed in A-grade, 2,876 in B-grade, 3,258 in C-grade, 742 in D-grade and only two were placed in E-grade.

The number of candidates having passed the examination was 7,801 while 1,622 failed in the examination.

The result of 80 candidates in pre-medical group was withheld due to variety of reasons including the charge of using unfair means in the examination.

In pre-engineering group, 3,348 students had appeared and only 2,404 were declared pass and 807 were failed and the result of 137 was withheld on the charges of copying case.

According to the gazette only eight candidates passed in A-1 grade and 191 were placed in A-grade, 745 in B-grade, 1047 in C-grade, 409 in D-grade and only four in E-grade, respectively.

The BISE also announced first three positions secured by boy and girl students in pre-medical and pre-engineering groups.

Pre-medical group (boys): Bilal Tunio of the Government College Mirokhan secured 916 marks and stood first, Mohammed Jan Brohi of the Galaxy Model School and College Shikarpur obtained 891 marks and clinched second position and Sumir Khwaja of the Cadet College Larkana secured 870 marks and stood third.

Pre-medical group (girls): Sindhya Kinya Lal Juriasinghani of the Government Girls College Larkana secured 918 marks and stood first, Marvi Soomro of the Gul Model Science College Jacobabad got 897 marks and stood second, Komal Juriasinghani of the Government Degree College Nasirabad obtained 892 marks and stood third.

Pre-engineering group (boys): Bilawal Dhamraho of the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Institute of Science and Technology College Larkana got 921 marks and stood first, Amir Abro of the Government Pilot Higher Secondary School Larkana obtained 914 marks stood second and Salman Jumani of the Government Higher Secondary School Sultankot obtained 894 marks and stood third.

Pre-engineering group (girls): Anmol Gul of the Government Girls College Shikarpur secured first position by obtaining 853 marks, Anam Qureshi of the same college got 852 marks and stood second and Syeda Massoma Zainab of the Public School Shikarpur got 850 marks and stood third.
