DADU: Four drown near Sehwan

DADU, Sept 13: Four people drowned in the Indus River and Aral canal on the second day of Urs of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz on Wednesday. Their bodies were taken out by Edhi workers and lifeguards.

Reema, 8, daughter of Hubdar Ali (Kandiaro), drowned in Aral Wah; Mohammad Awais, 15, son of Mohammad Arshad (Sahiwal); Kamaluddin, 20, son of Hamidin (Landhi, Karachi) drowned in the Indus River.

Three of the bodies from Bhago Toro were sent to their native places.

The body of the fourth person taken out of the river near Sehwan town was laying the Sehwan Taluka Hospital. His name could not be ascertained.

SUGHAR CONFERENCE: A Sughar conference was held on the 754th annual Urs of Qalandar Lal Shahbaz at the Shahbaz auditorium here on Tuesday night. District Naib Nazim Abdul Hameed Buledi presided over the conference.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Hameed Buledi urged the need to publish books on folk wisdom, saying that this literature should be taught in the schools. He lauded the role of Sughars in preservation and promotion of culture and vowed to resolve the problems of the Sughars.—Correspondent
