HYDERABAD, Sept 15: Work of draining out rainwater from low-lying areas of City, Latifabad and Qasimabad talukas has been stepped up and the water level is rapidly receding.

This was stated in an official handout issued by the information department here on Friday.

It said that the dewatering capacity had been enhanced by installing high-powered pumping machines in the city.

The handout said that District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil, provincial ministers and MQM leaders were monitoring relief operations with a view to draining out rainwater completely from the affected areas.

They visited affected areas and relief camps of Latifabad and Qasimabad talukas on Thursday evening.
