The 55-doubles ended in a blaze of glory for the combination of Akber — Jamil Khan who accounted for P. R. Raju-Bal Reddy 6-1, 6-1.

Raju received the Asghar G. Habib running trophy for winning the 55-plus singles title in addition to the mementos presented to the winners and runners up at the prize distribution ceremony.

The Indians were all praise for the organisers for conducting the event in a superb manner. “The quality of the competition was very high this time so was the hospitality,” Raman, who is India No 1 in 45-plus, told Dawn soon after the closing ceremony.
