CNS Squash: Aamir, Farhan shine

KARACHI, Sept 26: Pakistan’s Aamir Atlas Khan and Farhan Mehboob registered convincing victories on the opening day of the Chief of Naval Staff International squash championship at the Roshan-Jahangir Khan Squash Complex on Tuesday.

Atlas, ranked 90 in world rankings, defeated compatriot Shahid Zaman, a second seed and world No. 27, in straight sets in 19 minutes.

He will meet English player Tom Richards in the next round.

Farhan Mehboob stunned world No. 41 Indian R. Bhattacharya 3-1 to enter second round of the US$25,000 event.

The 149th ranked Pakistani took 35 minutes to win the battle.

He will face uphill task against top-seed Adrian Grant of England in the second round.
