SUKKUR, Sept 29: The Sukkur circuit bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday issued notices to the Ghotki SHO and a number of people who held a jirga and issued oreders against a man and a woman to appear in the court.
The single-judge bench of Justice Rehmat Hussain Jaffery issued the order on a petition filed by Mohammad Ibrahim, a resident of Ghotki.
The petitioner said that on April 15, the accused Shabaan Kumbhar, Ghulam Abbas Shah, Abdul Rahim Channa, Siddiq Channa, Bachal Channa, Mubarak Ali Channa and others, forcibly took him to a jirga.
He said that they declared his son Bashir Ahmed a karo alleging he had an affair with a woman named Shahul.
They also asked him to give the hand of his three-year-old granddaughter Sajida and pay Rs40,000 as fine.
The petitioner said that when the matter was brought to the notice of the Ghotki SHO, instead of registering a case against the accused, he pressurised him to follow the orders of the jirga.
He alleged that the accused had paid bribe to the police officer.
The court issued notices to the SHO and jirga holders to appear in the court on October 4, and file written statements.
INJURED: Two people were injured by armed men in Peerano Lodo village in the Pir Jo Goth police area on Friday morning.
According to reports, a group of armed men entered into the village and barged the house of Nawab Lodo at gunpoint.
They overpowered the inmates and unfastened three buffaloes.
When the inmates resisted, the dacoits opened fire.
As a result, Nawab Lodo and his son Ayaz were injured.
A police team reached the place and an exchange of fire took place between dacoits and police.
After which the dacoits fled leaving behind the buffaloes.
