CHITRAL, Sept 29: The Cluster organisation of Aweer Arkari has called upon the district government to reopen the main Aweer Arkari road closed for traffic about two months ago because of landsliding.
In a statement issued here on Friday, the organisation’s representative Etbar Khan said people of the area were facing hardships due to the closure of the road.
This had also delayed supply of wheat by the food department to over 200,000 people of the area, he said.
TEACHERS: General secretary of the Chitral chapter of the All-Teachers Association Mohammad Ashraf on Friday welcomed a verdict of the Peshawar High Court banning appointment of senior English teachers and subject specialists in the education department on ad hoc basis.
In a statement issued here, he said appointment of senior English teachers and subject specialists in the education department on ad hoc basis had created unrest among teachers because it had lessened their promotion chances.
The association demanded that 75 per cent appointment of senior English teachers and subject specialists should be made batch-wise and 25 per cent through the Public Service Commission so that servicing teachers had a chance of promotion.—APP
