Consumers for SNGPL office in Okara

OKARA, Oct 7: More than 50,000 gas consumers across the district are facing several problems as there is no regional office of the SNGPL in Okara.

There is no SNGPL executive office to solve the problems of consumers of Okara city, cantonment, Deepalpur, Haveli Lakha, Basirpur, Hujra Shah Muqeem, Shergarh, Renala Khurd, Habibabad, Akhtarabad and Pattoki. The SNGPL have been earning hefty revenue from the district, but the consumers have to go to Sahiwal or Lahore for the solution of their problems.

Only technical problems are solved at the city SNGPL office.

The SNGPL high ups did not respond properly to the demand of setting up office here during governor’s open kutchery two months ago.

Markazi Anjuman-i-Tajran president Sheikh Saeed, Okara Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Chaudhry Arshad Iqbal, People’s Lawyers Forum president Chaudhry Saeed and representatives of other organisations have demanded setting up of regional office.

PROTEST: More than 200 residents of Medical Colony of the DHQ hospital, including doctors and paramedics, protested against the buildings department for failing to provide gas to the colony outside Okara Press Club on Saturday.

They said the buildings department had received the whole amount for the supply of gas 18 months ago but it could not provide the commodity.

They said the residents of adjoining localities have been enjoying gas facility since along but the Medical Colony residents suffering at the hands of buildings department. They demanded DCO Aslam Kamboh to resolve their grievance.
