SANGHAR, Oct 13: Fertiliser dealers have started black marketing of phosphate and potash fertiliser after the recent price reduction announced by the prime minister.

The price of DAP (diammonium phosphate) was reduced by Rs250 per 50kg bag and its price ranges between Rs805 and Rs811.

The dealers have hoarded fertiliser and are selling only to farmers agreeing to pay between Rs1,000 and Rs1,100 per bag.

Farmers are paying exorbitant prices also for nitrophas and SOP fertilisers.

Criticising the government, farmers said that the prime minister should enforce the decision instead of merely announcing the reduction.

They said that the wheat sowing would start after a week and phosphate fertiliser was a main input.

They said that the dealers had created artificial shortage to fleece the farmers.
