ABBOTTABAD, Oct 13: Glowing tributes were paid to prominent educationist Ayesha Bibi on her third death anniversary observed at the Banat Taleem-ul-Quran, the first school founded by her in Hazara division in July 1948.

A large of people, including students and teachers of the school took part in the Quran Khawani and fateh.

Some old students also spoke about the services rendered by Ayesha Bibi, who is known nationwide as Bari Aapa Jee.

They said that besides being an educationist, Bari Aapa Jee was also a philanthropist who kept helping the poor and needy people.

She established the Banat Taleem-ul-Quran for girls where English and Islamic would be taught side by side. Later, the school was upgraded to the college level. Till date, more than 10,000 boys and girls have received education from the institution.

Begum Saqiba Rahim-ud-din is the patron-in-chief of the school.

After completing her studies from Lady MacLean College of Lahore, Ayesha Bibi had joined the Education Department. Later on, she resigned and moved to Abbottabad and started serving the cause of education.
