DADU, Oct 22: The Pakistan People’s Party (Shaheed Bhutto) Chairperson Ms Ghinwa Bhutto has demanded complete autonomy for the provinces and basic rights for the citizens on an equal basis.

Speaking to reporters at the DPO Chowk on Sunday, she criticised the government’s move to lease out two islands of Sindh and said the islands were the property of Sindhis and fishermen living there for centuries.

She said that it was part of a conspiracy against Sindh and Sindhis. On the one hand the government was planning to construct mega cities at the islands styled on Dubai while on the other a great number of people were subjected to sleep on footpaths.

About growing street crimes in Karachi, she said that people did not feel secure even within the walls of their homes.

She was in favour of granting more powers to the district governments and union councils, which she said were powerless in their present form.

She was accompanied by Zulfiqar Junior and Fatima Bhutto on her visit of Dadu.
