Rs0.7m looted in Attock

ATTOCK, Oct 24: Some unknown thieves took away cash, prize bonds, jewellry and other valuables worth Rs0.7 million from a house here at Darulsalam colony.

Haji Mushtaq Awan along with his family members went to a nearby village on Monday. When they returned home at night, thieves had taken away $5,000, prize bonds worth Rs1,70,000, cash Rs10,000, golden ornaments and other valuables.

“After scaling the boundary-wall and breaking room-locks, and lockers they had taken everything,” inmates told police, which could not find any clue of the culprits.

ARMS SEIZED: Police have seized illegal arms including six hand-grenades, six fuses and pistols from the possession of nine alleged outlaws in the district.

Police said that during raids against antisocial elements, arms were found from the possession of alleged smuggler Mohammad Asadullah, during the checking of a Rawalpindi-bound bus at Mansoor Toll Plaza, GT road.

Arms were also seized from eight other accused including Munawar, Ghulam Baqir, Mohammad Imran, Asad Ali, Sagheer Khan, Ejaz, Mohammad Yaqoob and Rab Nawaz. They were arrested from different areas of the district.

Separate cases were registered against the accused at the respective police stations.

VEHICLE IMPOUNDED: The anti-car lifting cell impounded a suspicious car (LZN-8392) during checking on the GT road.
