MARDAN: arsity or Mardan promised

MARDAN, Feb 15: NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussein Shah inaugurated the new campus of the University of Engineering and Technology Mardan (UETM), here on Friday.

Speaking at the ceremony, he said education was the top priority of the government, and as women were the most backward lot of the society, government wanted to open new educational institutions for them in the province. He also promised that after the completion of UETM, another university of Information and Technology would be opened in Mardan.

Later, he visited the old office of commissioner, where he was briefed by the district coordination officer Zahoor Khan Khalil about the construction of judicial complex. The governor directed that work on the complex should be expedited. The governor also granted Rs5 million for the university.
