DADU, Nov 10: A large number of villagers of the Sehwan taluka held a demonstration in Naing Sharif on Friday in protest against officials of the ENI Pakistan oil and gas company.

Jhangara UC nazim Imdad Shah, Saleh Shah, Haji Noohani, Wasyo Birhamani and Talib Wakoo led the protesters.

They said residents of 200 villages of Sehwan taluka were cultivating 2,500 acres land and drawing water for drinking from Nai Naing.

They said that the ENI Pakistan had installed four tube-wells at Bhit Jabal and water lifting machines at the head of Nai Naing due to which villages were not getting drinking water.

They said that the ENI Pakistan had been extracting oil and gas from wells at Bhit Jabal for eight years but they were not providing jobs to local people.

They said that the company was not providing gas, health, education and other basic facilities to the community.

They appealed to the president of Pakistan and the president of the ENI Pakistan to take notice of the situation and provide them basic rights in accordance with an agreement between ministry of petroleum and natural resources and ENI.
