HYDERABAD, Nov 16: Sindh University Vice-Chancellor Mazharul Haq Siddiqui has called upon teachers of degree colleges affiliated with the university to play their role in development of quality education and conduct regular classes and ensure attendance by students.

He was speaking at a meeting of the consultative committee of the university here on Wednesday.

Deans of the faculties, representatives of the affiliated degree colleges, registrar, controller of examinations and inspector of colleges attended the meeting.

The vice-chancellor said that it was the moral duty of teaching community to make collective efforts for better future of youths and teaching was a noble profession.

Replying to questions raised by representatives of affiliated colleges regarding shortage of teachers in colleges for boy and girl in Thatta, Umerkot, Mithi and other districts with 40 colleges being without principals, the vice-chancellor said that the university would again remind the education department in pursuance of its previous letter in this regard.

He said that the university would also approach the Sindh chief minister to take notice of shortage of teachers in colleges.

The vice-chancellor said that development of better curriculum and providing maximum facilities to students was the responsibility of the university.

He said that the university was making all-out efforts to help all affiliated colleges to improve quality of education.

The meeting decided that the university would not charge late fee with examination forms after expiry of date and would not extend the date for submission of examination forms from next year.
