HYDERABAD, Nov 27: A trader was kidnapped from Latifabad Unit 9, in the jurisdiction of B-section police station, on Monday.

Reports said that Haji Jan Mohammad, who deals in home appliances’ sale on instalments in Latifabad, was kidnapped when he was going to the civil court for hearing of his suit for recovery of dues.

A police source said that one person had purchased goods worth Rs720,000 from him on instalments after submitting his property documents.

The dues accumulated over the last two years with Jan Mohammad demanding payment.

The trader filed a suit in the civil court, seeking recovery of his outstanding dues. On Monday, while he was on his way to the court to produce the papers before the judge, a group of armed men kidnapped him from Latifabad.

The car did not have any registration plate. Saeed Gul, brother of the trader, reported the matter to the B-section police but no clue could be found.

Police also visited the house of the suspected person but failed to find him. Saeed Gul suspected involvement of Shahab and his family in the incident.
