ISLAMABAD, Nov 28: Former Prime Minister and PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto on Tuesday condoled the death of senior journalist S.G.M Badruddin. The veteran journalist died in Karachi last week at the age of 88.

In a condolence message, the former prime minister said that she was grieved to learn about the passing away of SGM Badruddin.

She said she knew Badruddin personally and worked with him when he was the Editor of daily Musawaat. He was a dauntless journalist who was not deterred even when he was arrested in 1980s by the military dictatorship.

Badruddin had earned a name in journalism and was highly regarded for his journalistic acumen in reporting on economic and financial issues, she said.

She said Badruddin belonged to that breed of journalists who are fast becoming extinct. Badruddin was a patriot who chose to adopt this part of the country as his home after the traumatic events of 1971.
