KARACHI, Dec 7: Continuing from where he had left, talented Nasir Mushtaq pulled off two upsets on the penultimate day of the STA Development Tennis Series at the CDGK Sports Complex here on Thursday.

Firstly, second seed Nasir outplayed top seed Abbas Raza 6-1, 6-1 to claim the juniors’ singles title.

Seeded third in the men’s singles, Nasir then got the better of second seed Danish Ahmed 6-1, 6-4 to cruise into the final. He had won the first set 6-1 and tied 3-3 in the second against his opponent when bad light stopped the play on Wednesday.

Nasir, who is on course for a double crown, now meets Hyderabad’s unseeded Abdul Majeed in the Friday (today’s) final.

Meanwhile, Khawaja Hamza overcame stiff challenge from Imran Mooraj on his way to register a 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 victory to win boys’ U-11 crown.
