SWABI, Dec 8: Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party provincial president Arshad Ali has said that the government’s plan to supply water from the Ghazi Barotha hydro-project to Islamabad would be resisted at all costs.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, Mr Ali said the government could not justify the plan’s implementation. He urged the people of the province to shun their differences and to forge unity in their ranks so that they could protect their natural resources.
The royalty from the Ghazi Barotha dam should be paid to the Swabi district government because the people of the area suffered a lot owing to the project, he said. He also demanded that Pashto be made the medium of instruction in the NWFP.—Correspondent
