Pakistan stun China in Asiad Tennis

KARACHI, Dec 8: Top national duo of Aisamul Haq and Aqeel Khan kept Pakistan hopes alive in the Asian Games doubles tennis event after the pair secured stunning victory over China to enter last-16 stage on Friday at Doha.

According to details made available here, the Pakistani pair avenged their Davis Cup defeat earlier this year against China by pulling off a 2-1 win in a 6-3, 3-6, 7-5 scoreline in 138 minutes. Zeng Shaoxuan and YU Xinyuan represented China.

Pakistan is expected to meet hosts Qatar in the pre-quarterfinal and may face archrivals India in the quarterfinal.—Agencies
