HYDERABAD, Dec 11: A group of villagers on Monday alleged that the DCO of Hyderabad and Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) were threatening them, in defiance of court’s stay order, to leave 100 acres of agricultural land their families owned for centuries.
Latif Ali, Hussain Bux and others who live in Goth Allahabad told a press conference at the press club that the HDA planned to lay a water pipeline under their land without getting permission or paying for the use of private property. They had to move court to stop the authority and got a stay order from the court of third civil senior judge.
But, in sheer defiance of the court order, the HDA, mukhtiarkar and DCO were threatening them to leave not only their lands but also their homes, they charged.
They said that their family had owned 100 acres of land registered with survey No.347, 505, 506 in Qasimabad taluka for time immemorial and it was the only source of livelihood for six families.
TRAUMA CENTRE: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil on Saturday night laid foundation stone for a trauma centre near Hala Naka on National Highway, which would be cost Rs20 million.
Mr Jamil said that the centre would be completed within a year and it would be expanded to add more departments in due course of time. A helipad would also be added to the centre for prompt movement of the injured, he added.
Hyderabad was not only the second largest city of the province but also an increasingly important city of the country, which was connected with other parts of the country through National Highway, scene of a growing number of road accidents every year.A trauma centre on the highway would provide the quickest possible medical help to the victims of road accidents, he said.
City Nazim Javed Jabbar, Naib City Nazim Ghulam Shabbar Chishti, EDOs and a large number of elected representatives attended the ceremony.
