HYDERABAD, Dec 13: Pakistan Workers Federation (PWF), Sindh Region, has slammed Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) for not paying salaries to its Christian and Muslim employees for November as well as advance salary for December before Christmas and Eidul Azha.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the PWF office-bearers Abdul Latif Nizamani and Mehboob Ali Qureshi said that the employers were bound under labour laws to pay their workers salaries by the first of every month or latest by tenth.

The employers were also discriminating in the payment of dowry fund and were not depositing the workers’ provident fund in the bank, they alleged.

WATER SUPPLY: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil said on Monday that the district government was spending Rs300 million on development works in union council No.1 of Qasimabad taluka.

Addressing a ceremony for laying foundation stone of a water pipeline which would supply filtered water to Sehrish Nagar the nazim said that the Rs100 million pipeline project would become functional in February 2007.

It would greatly enhance the quantity of water supply to the entire Qasimabad taluka, he said.
