KARACHI, Dec 15: The second national carrier of Pakistan, Shaheen Air International, started on Friday its flight operation from Karachi to Multan. The inaugural flight to Multan carried over 80 passengers including officials of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and Airport Security Force (ASF), besides Aamer Ali Sharieff, the chief executive officer of the airline.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony at a hotel in Multan, Mr Sharieff said that Shaheen Air was proud to start operations to the historic and one of the oldest cities of the country.

The CEO said that Shaheen Air’s operations to Multan from Karachi would play a vital role in the uplift of the country as no other private airline was operating to the historic city at present.

“Initially four flights a week on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday have been scheduled on special introductory fares”, he said and added that additional flight frequencies were also planned within a month.

The SAI official said that the airline had a fleet of four self-owned Boeing 737s.
