PESHAWAR, Dec 23: All government canals, irrigation schemes, civil channels being looked after by the irrigation department, with the exception of the canals in the Chitral district, will be closed down for one month for annual repairs from Jan 8.
The period of the closure could be longer or shorter because of weather conditions and the condition of crops, said an official statement issued here on Saturday.—APP
