KARACHI: Man killed in row over cow

KARACHI, Jan 3: A man was killed in a dispute over a cow in North Karachi on Eid day. Police said that incident occurred in Sector 5-C where Javed Iqbal had tied his cow in the street to which Shahdab a resident of the same street objected. The dispute turned violent as Shahdab took out a pistol and shot Javed Iqbal after an exchange of hot words.

The injured was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The police have registered a case against the accused.

FIVE HURT: Five persons including four policemen were injured during a clash between the activists of Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Sunni Tehreek in New Karachi in a dispute over the collection of sacrificial animals’ skins on Wednesday.

Police said that New Karachi, sector in charge Furqan Qadri, was injured in the clash along with four policemen including ASI Raja Rafiq, head constable Muhammad Qasim, Ali Muhammad and constable Abid.

Tension griped the Sector 5-E locality following the incident. A large number of law enforcement personnel were deployed in the area after the incident.

The DIG operations also reached the scene to control the situation.
