LAUSANNE, Jan 3: The results of last month’s Asian Games didn't have a major influence on men and women's world hockey team rankings. In both the groups of competitors, there was no change in the top ten.

Germany are still leaders in the men's team rankings with 2315 points while Asian Games bronze medallists Pakistan remain the best Asian team as the once world hockey powerhouse are ranked fifth with 1835 points.

Asian Games champions Korea added 100 points to their total, but stay steady on the sixth position with 1600 points. India, who reached a disappointing fifth place at the Asian Games, staged in Doha, Qatar, didn't drop and ranked seventh with 1293 points.

Asian Games runners-up China climbed one position and are at number 18 in world rankings.

World champions Netherlands remain leaders in the women's world team rankings. The Dutch women are with 2556 points, almost 400 points ahead of the second-ranked Australia.

Asian Games champions China added 100 points to their total and remain the best Asian team. They are currently ranked fifth with 1816 points. Meanwhile, Asian Games runners-up Japan are ranked sixth with 1410 points whereas the Malaysian women moved up two places, to the 24th position.—Agencies
