SAHIWAL, Jan 4: The District Assembly on Thursday approved Rs20 million to add 100 beds to the DHQ Hospital. It also approved appointment of 25 doctors and purchase of a generator.

The house also gave approval to appoint doctors and staff for the New Civil Hospital at the Grain Market, Sahiwal. It also ordered inquiries to check alleged bungling in development works in UC Chak 85/6-R.

The house accepted a resolution demanding a ban on ‘chhalia’ being imported from India and asked the district nazim to issue necessary orders in this regard.

Naib nazim Malik Faisal Ahmed Langrial chaired the session.
