Removal of Sukkur BISE chief sought

SUKKUR, Jan 5: Clerks and other employees of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Sukkur staged demonstration in front of the Board Office on Friday against the irregularities committed by its Chairman.

The employees led by Abdul Fatah Mahar and Ghulam Mustafa Pirzada shouted slogans against him. They told the newsmen that an amount of Rs10 million which should have been deposited in the Board's account was deposited in the personal account of Chairman, Mehboob Shaikh.

They further said that the Inspector of Colleges, Jan Mohammad Bugti who retired on December 4, 2006 was re-employed on the same post without the permission of competent authorities.

Meanwhile, the Chairman BISE Sukkur, Dr Mehboob Shaikh while ruling out allegations said that Jan Mohammad Bugti was re-appointed on orders of the Governor House. He said that he had already told high-ups about the unrest among employees following the re-appointment of Inspector of Colleges.

JUP Protest: Scores of people belonging to the Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan took out protest rally and staged demonstration at the Clock Tower on Friday, against the death sentence of former Iraqi President Saddam Hussain.

The JUP activists led by Mohammad Ibrahim Qadri and Musharraf Mehmood Qadri took to the streets from Madrassa Ghousia Cloth Market shouting slogans against the US and marched through main thoroughfares and gathered at the Clock Tower where they raised slogans.
