Faisalabad scent victory

LAHORE, Jan 8: Fine batting by Misbah-ul-Haq, Naved Latif and Mohammad Salman gave Faisalabad a great chance of winning their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League fixture against Lahore Shalimar at the Gaddafi Stadium on Monday.

Misbah scored 97, Naved 67 and Salman an unbeaten 64 as Faisalabad piled up 287 for eight in the second innings by the close of the penultimate day after conceding a slim lead of one run on first innings.

Misbah hit eight boundaries and two fours and with Naved added 123 for the fourth wicket after the visitors were tottering at 30 for three. Naved, who hit 10 fours, was also involved in another productive stand worth 112 with Salman, who has so far hit six fours and two fours.
