LARKANA, Jan 14: The sacked employees of the Sui Southern Gas Company have rejected the claim of its managing director that the company has reinstated 600 sacked employees on an order of the Supreme Court.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, Jawed Leghari, Assadullah Lahori and others said that the reinstatement the SSGC managing-director referred to in a recent statement occurred four years ago. The Supreme Court had ordered reinstatement of another badge of 652 workers on May 2, 2003, and the order had not been implemented yet, they added.

They said that the statement was baseless and an attempt to mislead the apex court.

They said that the management of SSGCL was avoiding implementation of the court order, which, in a contempt of court case, had directed the SSGC management to implement the order.

They said that more than three years had passed to the order but they were still waiting to be reinstated in services.

They appealed the chief justice to take suo motu notice of the SSGC failure to implement the order and to the president, prime minister and federal minister of petroleum and natural resources to ensure delivery of justice to the sacked workers.
