LONDON, Jan 14: Top leadership of the PML-N has expressed the hope that former prime minister Benazir Bhutto would attend the proposed conference of the opposition parties for which invitation letters have been sent to respective leaders and also to the civil society leadership.

“We are now in the process of discussing with the invitees the modalities and the proposed dates of the conference,” said Nawaz Sharif’s spokesman, Nadir Chaudhri, while briefing journalists here on Sunday.

Mr Chaudhri, who is also the Central Joint Secretary of the PML-N, said Nawaz Sharif and other senior leaders of the party believe that since the proposed conference would be taking far-reaching decisions on the future of Pakistan and its politics, the presence of PPP’s chairperson at such a meet would not only enhance its value but also lend the decisions taken at the conference the required mandate.
