HYDERABAD, Jan 17: A convict of triple murder case was hanged in the central prison of Hyderabad at 6.30 am on Wednesday after his mercy appeal was rejected by President of Pakistan and complainant of the murder case, his elder brother, refused to pardon him.
Mohammad Sharif Chishti son of Ramzan Chishti 38, was hanged in the central jail following issuance of black warrants by District and Sessions Judge Sanghar on January 10 as he had fixed January 17 for execution.
The warrants were issued after rejection of convict's appeal for clemency was communicated to the sessions court. The convict offered morning prayer and recited Holy Quran before he walked to gallows.
According to deceased's relatives, it was a petty dispute among the women of the family which led to this tragic incident in which Sharif murdered his brother's wife, Surraya, her son Zaheer Abbas, 7, and daughter Nargis 5, on March 10,1992 within the jurisdiction of Tando Adam police station.
The District and Sessions Judge Sanghar had sentenced him to death on April 3,1996 and his appeal was rejected by Supreme Court on December 12,2001. Then he sent a mercy petition to President on May 12, 2005.
