LARKANA, Jan 18: Armed men shot dead a sub inspector of police on Thursday near railway crossing in the jurisdiction of Dari police station and escaped. The deceased, presently posted in the Larkana police headquarters , was attacked and killed while returning from the session court, police said.
The body was handed over to the relatives after autopsy. The murder is apparently the outcome of a dispute between Bhuttos and Jatois over the ownership of the orchards of guava in Ghulam Bhutto village located on the outskirts of Larkana.
The DPO of Larkana, Mohammad Azim Tunio, along with a heavy contingent of police, raided Malook Jatoi village and picked up Sadoro Jatoi for investigations.
Police was fired upon in ‘Chandio’ village by unknown outlaws when it arrived there in search of criminals in connection with the murder of the sub-inspector.
Three people, who had allegedly opened fire upon the police, escaped from the scene, the sources said.
