Sialkot escape defeat in tense finish

RAWALPINDI, Jan 21: Defending champions Sialkot survived some anxious moments to hang on for a draw in their Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match against at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

After set 320 for victory, Sialkot crashed to 108 for nine in their second innings when the game ended. Medium-pacer Yasir Arafat claimed four for 47 to finish with match bag of 10 for 100. Fellow paceman Najaf Shah took four for 45.

Earlier, Rawalpindi, who earned three points for taking first-innings lead, declared their second innings at 219 for six.
