HYDERABAD, Jan 24: Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz activists observed protest in different cities of Sindh on Wednesday to protest against ‘enforced disappearance’ of JSQM general secretary Dr Safdar Sarki.

In Hyderabad, JSQM workers staged a protest demonstration and observed token hunger strike outside the press club. Speaking on the occasion, Mushtaq Khan, Murtaza Mughal and others said that Dr Sarki was picked up by the intelligence agencies 11 months ago and since then he was being held incommunicado.

They said the agencies were not ready to inform even the courts that Dr Sarki was in their custody. They appealed to the human rights organisation to raise voice against the disappearance of nationalist leaders and demanded release of Dr Sarki, Akash Mallah, Asif Baladi and others.

MIRPURKHAS: JSQM activists observed token hunger strike and staged demonstration outside the local press club. Speaking on the occasion, Faqeer Qaisar Khan Mari, Hamid Ali and Ghulam Mustafa called on the Supreme Court to ensure release of the nationalist leaders and activists from ‘illegal detention.’

NAWABSHAH: A similar token hunger strike was observed outside the local press club. The venue of the protest was thronged by JSQM activists who raised slogans calling for ‘independence of Sindh.’

On the occasion, Sarmad Mirani, Sohail Sammo and others said that a number of political activists from Sindh and Balochistan were ‘missing’. They alleged that some JSQM workers being tortured in prisons. They demanded immediate recovery of the ‘missing’ workers and medical facilities for jailed activists.
