Abbottabad recover after poor start

LAHORE, Jan 24: Riaz Kail and Bilal Marwat stroked half-centuries as Abbottabad made 237 against hosts Multan on the first day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League match at the Multan Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

Riaz scored an undefeated 82 with five boundaries while Bilal contributed 54 (nine fours). The pair put on 77 after Abbottabad had lost the first six wickets for only 89 runs, having been asked to bat first.

Off-spinner Majid Majeed captured three for 14 in 9.5 overs while medium-pacer Azharullah finished with three for 46.

Multan, in reply, lost their captain Saeed Anwar Junior for 4 to close at 24 for one.
