HYDERABAD, Jan 25: The activists of Pirbhat Women's Development Society staged a protest demonstration and observed token hunger strike outside the press club on Thursday to create awareness about increasing incidents of tribal feuds and honour killing in upper Sindh.
The protest was led by known leftist-turned human rights activist Jam Saqi, Nasreen Shakeel, Wahab Pindrani and Zeb Mallah.
They condemned the tribal disputes in upper Sindh, saying that the disputes had devoured hundreds of people, involved as well innocent, over the years.
They said that the government had failed to stop the murders of innocent women and men on the pretext of Karo-kari, and urged the government to adopt meaningful measures to curb the medieval practice.
DEMO: A group of members of Khoso community from Mureed Khoso village, Tando Adam, Sanghar district, including women and children, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Thursday against delay in the arrest of the murderers of their relative Salim Khoso.
Talking to journalists, Aslam Khoso said that his brother was murdered in cold blood in Nawabshah a few weeks ago and the police had failed to arrest the main accused in the murder case.
