NAWABSHAH, Jan 28: The district government on Sunday imposed a ban on pillion riding and movement of vehicles with tinted glasses, without number plates or tags inscribes with applied-for-registration in the district in the wake of two bomb blasts in the country.
District Nazim Faryal Talpur said while presiding over a meeting at Darbar Hall that the district had made strict security arrangements during the 9th and 10th of Muharram for the protection of people.
She said that the ban on pillion riding and movement of vehicles with tinted glasses, without number plate and applied for registration tags would remain in force till February 2. DPO Dr. Ghulam Sarwar Jamali said that a total of 2000 police personnel were deployed at various points, which would be aided by a host of volunteers. The main processions would be filmed, he said.
Indus Rangers Nawabshah Commandant Colonel Maqsood Amir said that the Rangers in coordination with district administration, would patrol the areas and provide backup to police.
DCO Ahmed Bux Khokhar said that district administration no technology could stop suicide attacks but arrangements could be made to minimise its impact should it happen here.
He said that a control room with telephone numbers 9370334-7 had been established to receive complaints from people.
INJURED: Unknown assailants attacked a policeman Abdul Latif Dahri who is gunman of DSP Daur and left him injured at the Bandhi bus stop on Saturday afternoon.
The injured was taken to nearby hospital for treatment.
An FIR was lodged at Bandhi police station but no arrests were made till the filing of this report.
