SKARDU, Jan 28: Gynaecologist Dr Tahira assumed the charge of lady medical officer cum gynaecologist at the district headquarters hospital here on Saturday, hospital sources said.

She was transferred from the Ghanche district headquarters hospital in Khaplu where she served for eight years.

Dr Tahira’s husband, Dr Shabir also joined the DHQ hospital as a chest specialist.It may be mentioned that the Skardu hospital was without lady gynaecologist and lady medical officer for two months.

STRIKE CALLED OFF: On the assurance of government officials and public representatives, doctors and paramedic staff of the DHQ hospital Skardu and Ghanche conditionally called off their token strike for one week.
