KARACHI: Muharram measures in city

KARACHI, Jan 29: The city government has established an emergency centre at the Nazim Secretariat to cope with any untoward situation during Muharram and afterwards.The toll free number is 0800-12012 where the staff and officers will be available round-the-clock on Muharram 10 while in other days from 9am to 11pm.

SHAH FAISAL: The TMA as part of Muharram arrangements has started cleaning activities in the town four times a day, besides carpeting of roads, lighting, health and sanitation.

Town Nazim Mohammad Imran has already cancelled the vacations of town staff to ensure provision of facilities to town residents on the eve of Ashura, said a statement issued here on Monday.

He also directed the officials concerned to remain present in their respective offices to respond to public complaints. The town administration has also established a reception camp at Shah Faisal Colony No1, Tanki Stop to facilitate mourners and for provision of medical aid in case of any untoward incident.

LANDHI: The town administration has also made effective arrangements to facilitate mourners during Muharram.

Town Nazim Mohammad Ismail Qureshi has already declared emergency throughout the town while a monitoring cell has also been set up by the town administration, which operates round-the-clock, said a statement issued here.—PPI/APP
