HARIPUR, Feb 2: Senior members of the People’s Party Parliamentarians are against the party’s newly-appointed district chief.

This was stated by Malik Abdul Hameed, senior vice-president of Haripur chapter of the PPP Parliamentarians here on Thursday evening. Urging the party’s leadership to reconsider its decision on district appointments, he said the PPP Parliamentarians was proud of its record of fighting against dictators, adding that the party workers had suffered a lot because of their unswerving commitment to principles of democracy and truth. However, he said, some party leaders at the provincial level were bent upon fragmenting the party by bulldozing the majority’s opinion.

He termed the recent elevation of Dr Faiza Rasheed as the new district president of the PPP Parliamentarians unwise and against the wishes of party workers.
